Lamentations 3:22-23

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

New Mercies Every Morning Await You

Have you ever noticed how the weight of yesterday tries to follow you into today? The mistakes you made, the disappointments that stung, the failures that whispered lies about your worth—they all linger like shadows, threatening to define your tomorrow. But Jeremiah, writing in the midst of Jerusalem's devastation, discovered a revolutionary truth: God's mercies are new every single morning. Not recycled from yesterday. Not diminished by your failures. New. Fresh. Like the sunrise that breaks through the darkest night, God's compassion arrives before you do, ready to meet you exactly where you are. This isn't sentimentality—it's the steadfast promise of God's faithfulness made tangible in each new day.

When Jeremiah penned these words from the rubble of his broken city, he wasn't writing from a mountaintop of victory. He was writing from the valley, from genuine despair and confusion about God's plans. Yet even there, he discovered that being "not consumed" by our circumstances is itself an act of mercy. We survive another day. We breathe another breath. We get another chance. And the reason isn't our strength or our performance—it's God's compassions, which fail not. Not sometimes. Not when we deserve it. They fail not, period. This is the foundation of everyday faith: understanding that you don't earn tomorrow's grace because you lived well today. Tomorrow's grace is already there, waiting for you at dawn, wrapped in the promise that God's faithfulness is great.

So what does this mean for your walk with God today? It means you can release yesterday's guilt....

God's mercies are new every morning—not because you earned them, but because His faithfulness never fails.

Joseph

The Dreamer

Joseph was his father's favorite son, and his ten older brothers hated him for it. They threw him in a pit and sold him as a slave to merchants headed for Egypt. In Egypt, he was falsely accused by his master's wife and imprisoned for years. Yet at every low point, Scripture say…

✦ Verse of the Day Connection

Joseph's story is the greatest Old Testament picture of how God redeems what was meant for harm — making it provision for many.
